Made by the same family since 1892, these traditional Japanese candles are inspired by nature and made entirely from plant-based materials: the wick from handrolled paper and soft papyrus reed (the same material in tatami mats), the wax from lacquer tree seeds. Unlike Western style candles, these candles have a hollow center which creates the characteristic lush, flickering flame.
